Song of the Day and Travel Update

So, to start off, here is the song of the day. It's from a movie called Shaolin, with Andy Lau and Jackie Chan. However, I found it to be more than just a Kung Fu movie, and its primary emphasis was on creating a powerful and emotional story. The song is a somber summation of the events in the movie, but it's still a beautiful song on its own.

Now, for travel. This Monday, I'll be leaving for a week long trip, so I probably won't be posting anything that week. I'll also be gone for almost half the month of June, so don't be surprised if there's a week or two where I don't post anything. I hope you enjoy the song, and that you have a fantastic day!

Music Suggestions, and an Update

So, I recently finished my cover of Imogen's Hide and Seek, which is not only my best song to date, but also the 8th song in my album, "Silversound Chronicles". With a goal of between 10 and 15 songs, I may or may not finish my album by the end of June, which would be ideal, meaning I could go on to do another this year. However, one of the biggest problems I get is lack of inspiration; sometimes I just don't know what to do with a song. So, if you ever have a suggestion for a cover, or a style of music, please feel free to let me know! Also, with Hide and Seek, I now have 4 covers and 4 originals on the album, which is a great launching point for the coming song selection. So, to wrap up, I'm finishing the album, song suggestions are welcome, and have a great day!

Song of the Day: Pentatonix - Aha! (Pop/A Capella)

Back with more Pentatonix, this time with their cover of Imogen Heap's Aha! While a little creepy, it's still a brilliant cover, and an excellent song over all. This song also partly inspired my cover of Imogen Heap's Hide and Seek. Anyway, enjoy, and don't forget to check out more of their music!

Song of the Day: Gotye - Somebody That I Used to Know (Anonymous Dubstep Remix)

This is one of the few songs I post were the video is actually important. This fellow is a dance master, and has done several other brilliant videos. Yes, he's real, and I don't know how he does it either.

Song of the Day: Pentatonix - Somebody That I Used to Know (Pop/A Capella)

When it comes to A Capella music, there a few big names out there, one of the biggest being Pentatonix, a group of five very talented singers and vocalists. They've covered a wide variety of music, from Adele to Imagine Dragons, and each of their released songs is produced with fantastic quality. This song is but one of many expertly done pieces in their repertoire, so enjoy, and check out some of their other music!

The Far Reaches of Sound #13: Boomflash

Alright, almost there! This is one of the coolest songs on the album, in my opinion, and I did a lot of stuff with offbeats and triplets. The sounds were great too, and there wasn't any major blurring. In hindsight, it does sound a bit simple, but that's not always a bad thing. In any case, enjoy, and have a great day!

Song of the Day: The Beatles - Don't Let Me Down [Gramatik Remix (Classic Rock/Electronic)]

Another Classic Rock remix from Gramatik, because they're just too cool. There's one other song by them, which I may not or may not post tomorrow, that ties in with my current Classic Rock theme, and that's Princes of the Universe by Queen. However, their remix is a little glitchy for me, so it's still a maybe. Anywho, enjoy the song!

Song of the Day: Stairway to Heaven [Gramatik Remix(Hip-Hop/Classic Rock)]

While still technically continuing with my Classic Rock theme, this song is more Hip-Hop than anything else. Note, not Rap, just Hip-Hop. I find, from what I've heard of Gramatik's music, that it always has a funky and eclectic feel, while still maintaining a sense of organization. They also have some really great sounds in their songs, which gives each one a unique feel. While it's hard to listen to remixes of great Classic Rock songs, especially Stairway to Heaven, I think that this was well done, and did the song justice so to speak; they didn't mutilate it with nonsensical dubstep. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the song!

Song of the Day/Evening: Ellie Goulding - Your Song (Pop)

I know I said I would be doing Classic Rock for a while, but this was too good to pass up. This is a beautiful song by English singer and songwriter Ellie Goulding, and is a wonderful testament to her work. It shows that sometimes simplicity and sweetness is better than trying to do a bunch of fancy melodies and breakdowns, and is a stark contrast to the compositions of many American pop artists, such as Taylor Swift for example.
